COURSE: Confined Space Rescue

PREREQUISITE: To participate in this class, completion of the Confined Space Entry course and CPR and First Aid are required.

COMPLIANCE REFERENCE: T8 CCR 5157 and 5158, 29 CFR 1910.146

DURATION OF COURSE: 7 hours

PROGRAM GOALS
According to NIOSH, 50% of the workers who die are attempting to rescue a fellow worker. The goals of this course are to evaluate current practices, techniques and methods of operation, and to enhance them through a thorough, comprehensive and hands-on approach.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
At the completion of this training session, the participants will be acquainted with the following information:

  • Rescue organization management
  • Medical aspects/victim stabilization
  • Incident Command System
  • Rescue systems
  • Developing a rescue plan
  • Rigging systems
  • Hazard identification

At the conclusion of the class, each participant will take a written examination and complete a course evaluation.
