PROGRAM GOALS
The Federal Department of Transportation requires specialized training for employees who handle or transport hazardous materials.

The goal of this modularized and function-specific training is to thoroughly cover the aspects of safety and handling techniques in order to prevent disastrous accidents.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
At the completion of this training session, participants will achieve all of the following objectives.

  • Reading & Understanding Material Safety Data Sheets
  • Function-specific training
  • Labeling
  • Placarding
  • Documentation
  • Safety training
  • Hazardous Materials Identification System - HMIS
  • HAZ MAT storage area inspection
  • Driver training
  • Hazardous materials tables
  • Packaging/Marking

    At the conclusion of the class, each participant will take a written examination and complete a course evaluation.

    Note: This course will include video tapes and discussions.
