COURSE: Electrical Safety, Machine Guarding and Lockout/Tagout

COMPLIANCE REFERENCE: T8 CCR 3314, 29 CFR 1910.147

DURATION OF COURSE: 2 to 4 hours includes machine inspections as part of the practical portion of the class.

PROGRAM GOALS
The purpose of this class is to familiarize employees with machine guarding principles, Lockout/Tagout processes, and to establish safe working practices. Each participant will receive a reference manual which includes the current Cal/OSHA machine guarding regulations.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
At the completion of this training session, the participants will be acquainted with the following information:

  • The Facility Energy Control Plan
  • Causes of accidents
  • Cal-OSHA Standards
  • Principles of machine guarding safety
  • Electrical hazards
  • Identification of energy sources
  • Lockout written procedures
  • Equipment utilized for Lockout/Tagout
  • Inspection of you facility machines
  • Written Exam

At the conclusion of the class, each participant will take a written examination and complete a course evaluation.
