COURSE: Fall Protection Competent Person

COMPLIANCE REFERENCE: T8 CCR 3413 & 3416, General Industry and Construction Safety Orders Sections 1637, 1670, 1675, 1509, 1510 and 29 CFR 1926.451, 1910.676

DURATION OF COURSE: 7 hours

PROGRAM GOALS
The goal of this comprehensive employee training program is to prevent injuries and death due to falls while working on elevated surfaces.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
At the completion of this training session, the participants will be acquainted with the following information:

  • The current safety standards and how they apply to your operation
  • Code of Safe Practices and Procedures for scaffolding operations, inspection and use of ladders
  • Selection and use of personal fall arrest systems
  • Application limit, proper anchoring and tie-off techniques; estimation of free fall distance, including determination of deceleration distance and total fall distance to prevent striking a lower level; methods of use; and inspections and storage of the system.
  • Hands-on practice inspecting and donning equipment.

At the conclusion of the class, each participant will take a written examination and complete a course evaluation.

Note: This course will include video tapes and hands-on demonstrations.
