COURSE: Heat Illness Prevention

COMPLIANCE REFERENCE: Title 8, CCR 3395

DURATION OF CLASS:
Workers: 1.5 hours
Supervisor Training:  3 hours

PROGRAM GOALS:
The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal OSHA) has submitted proposed emergency regulations for heat stress management to the state Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board and has asked the board to adopt them immediately.

California law requires employers to identify and evaluate workplace hazards and take the steps necessary to address them. This is mandatory training.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
At the completion of this training session, participants will achieve all of the following objectives.

  • Hazard Recognition/Prevention.
  • Symptoms/Recognition 
  • Providing Water/Shade 
  • Acclimatization
  • Rest Breaks 
  • Accessing Prompt Medical Attention

At the conclusion of the class, each participant will take a written examination and complete a course evaluation.
