Mission and Purpose

Emergency Preparedness Consultants is a division of Safety Training Specialist, Inc. Established in 1981.

The mission of Emergency Preparedness Consultants is to assist business and industry in achieving a competent level of emergency preparedness.

This is accomplished by providing planning, assessments, consultations, training, drills and exercises, provision and supplies. Our programs and services are tailored and customized for each specific organization.

Safety Training Specialists, Inc.'s team of Emergency Preparedness Consultants and Trainers have been developing emergency plans for 100's of organizations over the last 2 1/2 decades. Our staff is comprised of bilingual EMS professionals with hands-on national and international emergency and disaster response experience.

Safety Training Specialists, Inc. is able to develop your emergency evacuation written plans as well as color-coded, laminated emergency evacuation maps for the office and production facilities.

 
 

Emergency Medical and Disaster Supplies

One of the key elements in disaster preparedness is the selection, storage and maintenance of essential supplies. Safety Training Specialists, Inc. is able to assist you with this vital and important element of emergency preparedness. We can provide you with all of the emergency and disaster supplies for your organization.

Emergency Preparedness Training

Courses are tailored and conducted at your facility in English or Spanish, weekends or weekdays, at a time convenient to your organization. The emphasis of our training is practical, hands-on experience.

Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation - 4 hour course
Covers artificial respiration and single rescuer CPR.

Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation - 7 1/2 hour course
For the health care provider and professional rescuer, i.e., dentists, nurses.

Automated External Defibrillator (AED) - 5 hour course
Basic CPR course integrating the use of the AED.

Bloodborne Pathogens Training - 2 hour course
Covers all of the required curriculum under California and Federal OSHA requirements for general worker awareness and health care personnel.

CPR, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens - 7 1/2 hour course
This one day course covers the training requirements under the California and Federal OSHA general industry and construction standards.

Fire Prevention and Extinguisher Use - 4 hour course
Covers the OSHA training standards for fire prevention, facility fire inspection techniques, familiarization with fire fighting equipment and hands on training on the proper use of fire extinguishers.

Triage and Multi-casualty Incident Management - 4 hour course
This module teaches the EMS standard technique "START" (Simple Triage And Rapid Treatment) method.

Non-structural Search and Rescue Training - 4 hour course
Teaches hazard assessment, scene size-up, and how to employ principles of leverage, cribbing and building search techniques.

Principles of Emergency Management - 8 hour course
Vital to the organizational structure and development of an effective emergency action plan. Course content covers the review of the organizations emergency plan, logistical requirements, business continuity plan, and disaster preparedness and protections methods.

Evacuation Leader/Floor Warden Training - 4 hour course
Trains the designated individuals responsible for carrying out your facility's emergency evacuation plan. The items discussed will include the duties and responsibilities and a thorough understanding of your facility's evacuation plan.

Our faculty has over 40 years of practical experience in real life emergency response. Additionally, we have developed hundreds of emergency preparedness programs and trained thousands of workers in CPR, first aid, and disaster response.
