Substance Abuse Policy Manual (Dept. of Transportation)

The Drug and Alcohol Policy Manual offers customizable policy and procedures required by general contractors and government projects for high hazard jobs. It includes supervisor and employer training information. This is applicable for both general industry and construction purposes.

Both English and Spanish employee training manuals and testing materials are included. Permission to reproduce both the Employee Safety Manual and quizzes is noted in the manual. A reproducible Documentation of Training form is also a part of the package.

Some of the other elements included in the manual are:

  • Recognizing the substance abuser.
  • Documentation of reasonable suspicion.
  • Information for supervisors on control substance and alcohol use.
  • Glossary of relevant terms.
