Emergency Response Training

The goal of this comprehensive training program is to prepare staff for emergencies in the workplace, thus ensuring a safe and effective response.  Similar to the Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.).

Class Objectives:

At the completion of these training sessions, the Emergency Response Team will be acquainted with the following information:

First Session

  • Principles of emergency care
  • Incident Management system
  • Artificial respiration
  • One rescuer CPR
  • Obstructed airway
  • Skill practice
  • Bloodborne Pathogens

Second Session

  • Patient assessment & evaluation
  • Bleeding control
  • Bandaging and splinting
  • Trauma and soft tissue injuries
  • Medical emergencies

Third Session

  • Review CPR and First Aid exams
  • Site specific plans
  • Emergency equipment demonstration
  • Fire safety

Fourth Session

  • Patient carries and transfers
  • Triage-Multi-victim management
  • Incident Command System
  • Search and rescue
  • Simulation drill

At the conclusion of the class, each participant will take a written examination and complete a course evaluation.
